About Us
Visual Impairment North East is a UK-Registered charity (no. 518308). Our aim is to improve the lives of Visually Impaired people by promoting a greater understanding of eye conditions and the problems faced by Visually Impaired people. We designed the VINE Simulation package to increase knowledge & awareness among sighted people
Designed by sight loss professionals and available since 1984, it has proven to be a very economical and effective training aid for anyone working with visually impaired people; some of the sets produced in the 1980’s are still in use today.
The 10 pairs of spectacles in the pack simulate the most common symptoms of the most common eye conditions and includes instructions with exercises, a DVD and a magnifier.

The Vine Simulation Package is used by The RNIB, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Moorfields Eye Hospital and many other well-known organisations, as well as many local authorities, hospitals and schools in the UK and worldwide. (Please click to view our Testimonials page.)
The Vine Simulation Package is available from only £225.00, which includes postage within the UK. It is a highly durable product which can be used many times and should last for many years so it represents excellent value for money.
Any profits which are made through the sale of simulation spectacles are given in grants to Blind and Visually Impaired people in the North-East of England.
